Initial Concept (P-tropic Pavilion)

The word 'tropic' means Towards. The P stands for photo, program and ports. Our pavilion shape will react by taking these inputs into account.

Photo
Photo means light. Light is something we want in our study center, playground and cafe. Therefor the building will grow towards places where the solar radiation is high. The solar study should also take shadows from existing trees into account.

Program
In our pavilion different activities take place. Students will use small clusters that will be connected to the cafe and children will also have a playground. The building will need inner walls to divide rooms. There will be a real time interaction that will define the position of these walls. In this way the size of the rooms can differ, according to the amount of users and their activity.

Ports
The site is facing the Science Center at one side and the faculty of Architecture at the opposite side. A connection between these buildings can be provided by the pavilion. Also park walkways can connect to our building. This will result in a network of moving pattern, that will affect our pavilion.
