Eco-Net Pavilion

Romain Thijsen, Vasiliki Koliaki, Vivien Wu, Jingyi Li

1.1.jpg The Eco-network focuses on the multi-agents system. In the system we have different sub-systems:1.Network system 2. climatic system and more. We want to use parametric software to simulate people's behavior. We use people's angle of view, positive points in the garden and the negative points in the garden as our variable for calculation the people's paths. Then we will define the different characters of entrances and people's identities to control the paths. Lastly we will use this algorithm to build our whole networks in this garden. The network would be our mapping notebook to guide our cafe pavilion design. Because of the property of our cafe, this pavilion will give a feedback to our networks. As a result , our network is dynamic system .What we want to do is finding a balance in this dynamic network . At same time, the climatic system will affect our network system by solar variable and light variable. Then the network system would give a feedback to adjust itself for the requirements of entertainment.

General Comments: Using view to as one of the form finding criteria is interesting. It is important to try and diagram the conditions that you are describing in the text. You should start to formulate the generative process based on your idea and try to define sets of rules, and start to apply it on the site. It is also important to define the subjective goal and architectural ambition of your experimentation which you can carry out through series of experimentation. Try to be more analytical and critical with your diagrams. The suggestion is to diagram the generative processes. In your diagram showing the different aspects you are considering, network, viewing and sunlight needs more verification. Instead of categorizing different elements that fall inside each category, you should really evaluate the things that you have listed, and what aspects are relevant in which scale. Which criteria are being used in to inform the generative systems and which criteria are being used as an analysis for the basis of your top down decision making process.

Site Analysis: Instead of showing the existing conditions, you should show your interpretation of the site. Start to analyze and diagram.

Global geometry/macro scale: As mentioned above, you should try and diagram the generative logic and test it on the site. Also try to determine the topology of your systems and how they can be fabricated.

Meso&micro Scale (Skin): The same comments apply for meso&micro scale
